So basically, the plot goes like this: It was so hard to put down. View all 12 comments. Alera’s constant need to thwart everything in her path becomes cumbersome very quickly, and despite myself and because of this trait I found myself agreeing with her totally egotistical, douchy, but ultimately loving betrothed on more than one occasion. It still drives me nuts that he let Alera have an annulment! For year there was no sign of either the boy or the Cokyrians and the inevitable continuation of the war that was left It has been seventeen years since the abrupt end of the bloody war between the Kingdoms of Hytanica and Cokyri.
My heart still goes out to the man, he is perfect! But she could not have guessed that their clandestine meetings would unveil the dark legacy shadowing both their lands.
I didn’t feel a connection to him like I legacg with your typical heroine’s object of affection. But on the other hand Legwcy wasn’t a great hero in my opinion, and I felt his relationship with Alera was surface-level at the most. The characters in Legacy are interesting, but under developed and the conversations between them seem forced and a bit weird beca A new world, intriguing court life and an ancient prophesy: Sacrifice was a fantastic read and I am looking forward to more from Cayla Kluver in the future.
Retrieved 27 January I was amazed at the history between Hytanica and Cokyri, it was really interesting to read about! En esta serie Libro 1. And that just makes them even more sexy. In the last book of the Legacy series, Alera must try and maintain the peace between her kingdom and the ‘enemy’, proving herself as a good leader for her kingdom. I didn’t believe their love story.
The attitudes and reactions of some characters are repeated in the same way. Alera is yet again conveniently absent for legscy big climax, and Shaselle ventures out on the streets just long enough to realize how horrific killing really is, and then libeo the rest of the takeover holed up in a cellar.
Her office is filled with twinkly lights, candles, and fun colors. Whenever I saw a paragraph full of details that literally took up the entire Kindle screen, I either skimmed or just skipped it completely. I kept expecting something else to happen, but there’s no easy way out when it comes to this ending.
Sure, Kluver told me about how amazing Narian was and how sweet, but she didn’t show me like she did in the previous books.
It had been the High Priestess, however, who had delivered the final blow, saving Narian’s life by slitting her brother’s throat when she had realized that legact evil exceeded her control.
Alera is Alera she tries really hard to help her country become stable under the Corkian oibro. She describes situations a kluvef excessive, which makes the story boring occasionally. I also felt like a lot of the action was glossed over in favor of more description.
It just seemed to me to be a little too much.
One lives behind the former Hytanican palace walls and walks the razor’s edge to keep the fragile peace in her beloved homeland. I kept on reading hoping that at some point she would realize that her country could and should fight for its freedom instead of remaining under occupation so that ‘no one would get hurt’ meaning Narian wouldn’t get hurtbut she never changed her tune until the end. So I purchased books 1 and 2, said goodbye to civilization and got to work. Shaselle is always finding trouble she is a great character.
This book is not yet featured on Listopia.
This is the time to regain what has been lost. I guess that’s how I feel about the entire novel, though. I don’t want to give any spoilers but I think it will become obvious as you read where certain actions just didn’t seem lebacy fit. When the palace guard captures and intruder—a boy her age with steel-blue eyes, hailing from her kingdom’s greatest enemy—Alera is alarmed…and intrigued.
The one that is incredibly strong, despite her situation. The style itself, though, is rather nice.
I had a few things I loved, a few I liked, and some that I disliked, but they were all things of ccayla taste. I was hoping for more with this third book. Both Legacy and Allegiance were written entirely in Alera’s perspective, but in Sacrifice Kluver adds a second narrator, Shaselle.
