Modern Heavy Metal Conference, Aalto University – 28 June-2 July 2017

The third iteration of Modern Heavy Metal Conference’s dates are set. Tentative dates are June 28 – July 2 (Conf 28-30, Tuska 30-2). Early information and CFP will be coming up very soon.

Motivated by the 100th anniversary of Finland’s independence, the event will embrace the special theme of “Music and National Identities”. MHMC2017 is part of the Centenary of Finland’s Independence programme. However, we are, of course, open to a wide variety of proposals from the metal community (and music & culture in general).

The event will consist of paper/practice presentations, keynotes, industry panels and interviews, etc. Some of them taking place at Tuska Festival with whom we are again happy to collaborate, alongside with Music Finland. 2017 also marks the 20th Anniversary of Tuska Festival, so it’ll be a blast.
